One very frosty morning

My goodness it was cold last night and I now know why. I knew there was a reason for me to stay in bed snuggled up nicely, this does not happen all that often mind you, we normally bounce out of bed to start the day. We got up and started having breakfast and I happened to look at the next door neighbours house and thought that it had been snowing. Everything in sight was white with the heaviest frost I have seen for a while. What a laugh, we opened up the door of the house and had a look. There was that much frost that I had trouble opening the car door because it had stuck to the body of the car and there were little particles sticking up in the air, it really had looked like it had been snowing.

We have had some amazing weather occurances this week. During the week we also had some major water levels in the Huon River which came to and over some roads, it was amazing to see and then because the river is tidal the water receeded a little before we knew it in about half an hour. Some areas like Franklin were pretty flooded as these pictures will show and apparently this happends pretty much every year. We have apparently not had the most water we will get though. The water comes down the Judbury valley when it rains and all of the smaller rivers run into the Huon river and create a huge water swell. This is something Adelaide and Perth I am sure would love to have. We are pretty lucky really.

Apparently it snows in Geeveston sometimes so this will be great, I cannot wait.
Talking about snow. All this week we have had snow on the mountains and we said that we will take the kids up there for some snow fights and to build a snow man or two now that they have some snow gloves to keep them warm. One of the girls at work wanted to go during the week but instead her daughter came in carrying a plastic bag full of snow. It was so funny and cute at the same time. She was pretty excited. Small things amuse small minds apparently but for those of us that come from the main land we really appreciate this beauty every day.
